CAROL A. LEVINE, ESQ.

EDUCATION:   Undergraduate degrees from Emory University in 1964, Georgia State University in 1975, and Woodrow Wilson College of Law in 1983.

LEGAL EMPLOYMENT & EXPERIENCE: Ms. Levine is a veteran mediator and arbitrator. After 14 years of general civil litigation, she now limits her practice to mediation and arbitration. She is a frequent lecturer and panelist at ADR seminars and has extensive experience teaching mediation and arbitration training courses.

Since 1988, Ms. Levine has continuously mediated many hundreds of cases involving a wide variety of issues as listed below. On behalf of the Justice Center of Atlanta, Inc. she has mediated discrimination claims arising within the US Postal Service in Miami, Pensacola, Tallahassee, Panama City, Florida, and Mobile, Alabama. She has mediated discrimination claims arising within the United States Navy at the North Island Naval Base in San Diego, California, and naval bases in Cherry Point, NC and Charleston, SC. She has presented instructive role plays on the mediation of sexual harassment claims.

Ms. Levine serves as a mediator/arbitrator through HMA and court appointed cases. In 1992, she was selected by The Private Adjudication Center, an affiliate of Duke Law School, as an arbitrator for the Dalkon Shield National Claims Arbitration Program. She heard claims within the US for the past five years, and, in 1993, was selected to hear claims in Melbourne and Adelaide, South Australia. These cases involved intensive education and study of gynecological/obstetrical issues.

In 1996, Ms. Levine acted as an agent of the US District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, which was overseeing the Multi-District Litigation concerning breast implants. She facilitated regional/informational meetings held in locations in the US for breast implant recipients.

PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS: Society for Professionals in Dispute Resolution, the ADR section of the State Bar of Georgia and a past Chair of the ADR Committee of the Atlanta Bar Association.

MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION TRAINING: The Justice Center of Atlanta, Inc. (1988); additional training in Advanced Medication Techniques, Advanced ADR Advocacy, Employment Disputes, Workplace Disputes in the Federal Sector, Probate Mediation, Special Education Mediation, Nursing Home Disputes, and frequent ADR seminars.
